Garage door controller question

Afternoon everyone.

Our garage door controller (Novoferm Novoport III)
Has stopped working, the plastic buttons inside have broken plus a button has come of the circuit board.

It still operates the doors with the remote fobs, but that’s it.

My question is, can I replace these units with a generic universal unit with associated remote fobs that would come with said unit or not.

It’s the control unit that sits on the garage inside wall attached to the door opener which is on the runners.

If I have to buy an Original unit, I will, but that will be £600 supplied and installed.

Any advice would be great, thankyou.

Looks like a simple microswitch has fallen off the board a new one is a few pence and if you know someone who can operate a soldering iron it should be an easy enough fix. Then find someone with a 3D printer to make you some new buttons

I fitted one of these to my hormann electric door, I bough two of them to give me 4 remotes has worked perfectly for 5 years now.

Set it up to button A open and closes the door and button B puts the lights on and off in the garage

Like just remove old & connect new…!!!!!

I fitted similar a couple of years ago albeit with different branding.
My pall then showed me how easy it was open the door with an app on his phone!

Thanks for the reply, so quite easy to swap over with current controller.
Just connect power supply to new unit & the power cord that goes to the garage door motor above.
Is that sort of it.

When we moved in here there was only one fob for the garage door and it was falling apart.

I fitted one of these - now the garage door opens / closes from my phone - and from the CarPlay screens in the cars - was super easy to fit, your door controller is compatible.

I m not stupid, LOL, but this is new to me.

From memory is was all quite easy. just followed the instructions that came with it and then located the 3 terminals needed. From what I remember it was just a positive feed in a negative feed in and then the "command" terminal that was needed.
