LED strip extension not working, where previous strip did

Hi All,

I have some led strip running above my garage.

Spec from when I bought it:

Specifications:

Output Voltage: DC 12V

Length: 5m

LED Chip: 2835 SMD

LED Quantity: 60 LEDs per meter

2835 SMD LED Strip Width: 8mm

A few of the leds had died so I bought this to replace it

Connection is sound and I ve re tested the old strip.

It s connected via a small joining clip see photo(long story but I can t access the area to replace everything due to electric doors fitted in the way)but it doesn t light up.


I can touch the old one on the contacts without clipping it in and get light. This one I can’t.


I these incompatible?

Silly question - Have you checked that you are trying to connect the strip polarities to the connector the correct way round.. ie positive terminal on the connector to positive rail on the strip?

If it isn’t working connecting it at one end - try connecting the connector to the other end of the new strip.

Massive pain in the backside getting it clipped in securely but now sorted.
