Buxus worth buying

I've seen some cheap £20 buxus cones at b&m. I've had buxus a few years ago and had issues. Is it worth getting and anything I can do to stop that disease that kills them. I'm only buying one for outside the front door if that makes any difference.

Do you mean disease or do you mean the caterpillars?

For the caterpillars I just spray them once a year with an insecticide when the things first appear and that's enough. Biological treatment options exist but I just stick with what I know works.

Found the biological option worked very well but it was a hedge so way too much hassle.

So depends - some topiary maybe, a big area… too much bother.

I have a few in pots and they’ve definitely liked getting Westland Buxus feed and protect. Even the one that’s been in the same pot for years and stopped putting on much growth has taken off again.

I’d have been sceptical of such a niche product but hard to argue with what I’ve seen.
