Current best battery hand-held vacuum?
Discussion
So the Vax hand-held is held together a bit with tape and has just eaten its last battery (known for killing them with parasitic drain and overcharging if left on the charger - will wife or MiL take them off either when finished??? I wonder why they're dead...)
Don't want another Dyson - way overpriced and underperforming.
What's the best/most reliable/good value thing out there at the moment?

I have this one. Battery doesn't last long but it has a strong pull and a couple of handy attachments.

Got one of these.

The battery lasts long enough to do a full clean on our previous 4 bedroom/3 reception room house, it has been excellent and has 5 years under it's belt already.
ONLY down side is it needs emptying every time it is used.

Have a look at the Henry Quick range - these use a disposable 'pod' system which means they're much cleaner to deal with than the bagless type, without all the filters that need to be maintained. Obviously there's a cost to the pods and many avoid 'disposable' on principle, but they do last for ages.
Do you still have the old Dyson? I've just modified our V6 with this...........

and this..............

And as I was at it I thought may as well get this..........

55 quid all and its way better than new - so much 'suck' now that using it on max speed on our carpet areas will stall the brush head
plus the rollers on the brush head makes it a doddle to push/manoeuvre. And of course I have six Makita 5.0 Ah batteries.......and it's got headlights

I've got a very old one plugged in for tiny jobs in the garage, couldn't tell you the model!55 quid all and its way better than new - so much 'suck' now that using it on max speed on our carpet areas will stall the brush head

SWMBO wants new, there'd be no point in presenting this idea

I should have said, this vac will be for little jobs - we have a Miele cylinder for proper work in the house.
