Morning all

I'm looking for any information I can find on this water tank which forms the central part of my heating/hot water system in the house. I'm trying to put together a P&ID for the whole house system as it is quite complicated, and I want to mark up what the various flows and returns are.

In essence, the (wood pellet) boiler heats up the water in the tank, I think with an indirect loop in this tank, and then the water in the tank then circulates through the CH system. The 2 hot water tanks above this are heated by circulating the water in this tank, through the indirect loops in the 2 hot water tanks above.

At least, that's what I think.

There is vague evidence of a "pipeline center" sticker on the body, but no other identification plate

Any help appreciated

AI says:

Based on the weathered brand stamping visible on the front left of the cylinder, this horizontal unvented hot water tank was manufactured by Linefer (often stylized as LINE FER).

It looks like 'calorifier' units found on some boats.

You could try working out its volume and doing an image search for xxx litre calorifier horizontal perhaps?

Such things are often made to measure by small workshops though.

The Pipeline Centre marking is from the packaging tape they use

Sorry that’s not very helpful smile

thanks for the replies...there really is no wrong or unhelpful answers here....I think I have managed to deduce how it all works, by a process of elimination, but it would be nice to know how the tank/calorifier is set up internally. Someone has previously written on a 4 of the pipe connections at the end of the unit, but I'm sure 2 of them are "crossed over" , going by the way the tank heats up from cold...
Cheers
