The fence between us and the semi derelict house next door needs repairing, I beleive the post is totally rotten and its started to lean a little bit. As a short term fix to get through winter etc. I want to support the broken post, and there is an old brick wall a foot or so infront of the post. which makes access a pig, but could also help?

I was thinking to bolt through from the wall to the post with some form of metal bracket to help take the weight, until we can afford to replace the psot properly? Photo below, looking straight down at the ground over the fence.

I have seen the ground spikes you can get for repairs, but I think the weight of the fence will just pull it over?

A cheap bodge to get through winter, use a herringbone strut, fix it at ground level to the wall, the other end to the post, the tabs on the end are bendy (ish) so they’ll accommodate a steeper angle. You may have to enlarge the holes at the wall end to accept your chosen screws/plugs.

Posts and postcrete are dirt cheap and quick & trivial to install. Certainly for just doing the one!

You may as well just do it properly unless you're worried the panels will disintegrate when you disconnect them from the post?

It’s a continual fence, not sure on the right name, but you can’t see the posts from our side, so getting the post out, is a bit of an ordeal as far as I am aware?

Bit of 3x2 screwed to the post then 2 pieces fixed to it either side of the wall. No need to fix it to the wall. That will hold the post till you can fix it.

Bit like this

If its not quite tight enough against the wall just knock a packer in the make it solid.

Most times I’ve seen someone attach fence panels to a wall, after the first storm the wall is cracked or on the floor.

Get a long one and it'll be fine. Make sure you get one with proper post clamping like in this video, not the cheap rubbish.
