Incoming Mains Cable Woes
Discussion
My incoming mains cable runs through the loft from overhead. I need it moved 60cm to a different wall. The cable is long enough. National Grid won't move it because current regs say no.
This means cacble re-routed from the overhead connection down the wall and to a box outside instead, meters in that as well, then another box with a cutout/fuse/whatever because the run back to the consumer unit is about 15m. (3m is the max apparently without the extra kit).
I have to sort the second box, the cutout/safety thing and the big cable. Sparky will do the consumer unit move of 60cm.
Please tell me about that kit I need to buy.
p.s - National Grid have been excellent, but the fact they're not allowed to move an existing and perfectly legal bit of cable by 60cm is one for the "annoy beyond reason" thread.
