I use HA, and then Solar Assistant on a Pi connected to my Growatt inverter.
SA basically gives real time feedback, rather than "the update once a minute" (or 5) with Growatt Shine direct.
Then I use HA automations to set the overnight battery charge level based on the next day's solar forecast using Solcast plugin - which is remarkably accurate (enough so for setting battery SOC levels).
I also use HA to switch the hot tub mode from Eco (basically no heating) to standard if the batteries are over 95% AND the forecast the next day is good, AND its before 5pm.
That kind of stuff.

Thanks for that.... Havent a scooby when our battery will be installed but am already on the BG EV tarif as we now have the Explorer....and proper tiddly it is too.
Also have an EDDI, which I am thinking is now redundant as I will be putting the immersion on a timer from 0000-0500 and exporting all the solar str8 out at 12p per. Seems sensible.
Was thinking of getting rid of our old oil burner and intsalling a ASHP but the costs dont add up. The extra electricity alone is high...
