Hi Guys,

Could anyone identify this utility cover, it is lose and has damaged a car that drove over it.

I can see it is some type of observation cover, but no idea who I need to report it to.

THanks in advance,

Looks like an observation monitoring well…. Any planned works or houses planned for that bit of land? You could even try the website cast into ..

Cheers guys, I’ll call the council.

I tried Thames water, who to be fair turned up within 30 mins. They thought it was theirs, MWB is metropolitan water board, but then buggered off and closed the ticket without fixing it.

Looks like MW8 to me, like a model number?

Maybe from Monitoring Well, 8" or something like that.

They’re commonly used for boreholes and ground water monitoring which is more likely the domain of the environment agency.

Does its location appear on this map?

Did you try the website written on it ?

But surely that will just identify the manufacturer of the cover, not the user/owner/installer?

Take the lid off and have a look down the hole.
