I fitted some slatted wall panels about six months ago (after pva'ing the wall). I used Stixall contact adhesive. Some of the panels are now lose, having come away from the wall.
It's the first time I've used Stixall and it doesn't appear up to the job.
I'm looking for recommendations for a good contact adhesive , that'll last.

Closely examine the method of failure. Has the adhesive failed or has the substrate failed and come off with the adhesive? Did the wall had dust, grease or paint?

As said, identify the reason it failed, it shouldn't be as stixall is as good as any for bonding.

I would had used SBR as well not PVA.

Yes, as others have said, identify the failure point.
Is it glue-panel
pva'd wall - glue
pva layer peeling off wall etc.

Dilute PVA is good for 'sizing' a dusty wall or crumbly plaster etc. You don't want it too thick, you can get a glossy layer that other stuff won't stick to.
You want it porous, but bound together generally.
The Screwfix 'waterproof PVA' is quite good.
I find various 'polymer' gap-filling adhesives that come in a mastic gun tube stick well to most things, so long as one surface breathes. 'Instant nails' is a 'value' one from Toolstation which seems to work well, provided you are not expecting either 'instant' or 'nails'.
If the panels are shiny plastic, a polyurethane sealant may stick better? Or even silicone.

The best contact adhesives are probably Bostik rubber boat glues, but they are not relevant to the problem in hand.

The panels have a felt backing and I took a lot of time preparing the wall before I put them up. I'll be them off in the next couple of days to see if I can identify what's gone wrong.
Ive been looking at the pink sbr as it seems to get good reviews. Any tips on applying it ?
