Tiling Question
Discussion
I am renovating a bathroom in an early Victorian terrace. I have stripped the walls back to bare brick and I am installing a shower cubicle and bath as well as the loo and hand basin.
The walls will be half tiled. I am going to use tile backer board to create the shower cubicle and my original plan was to have the remaining walls re-plastered before tiling, but I am wondering whether to maybe use tile backer board over the walls and tile over that instead.
Are there any tilers out there? What would be the best option. I have to add I would get someone in to do the tiling and plastering, two jobs I wouldn't touch with my ham-fistedness!

Assume you aren't planning to plaster and then tile over that? Load capacity isn't great tiling on plaster.
You can board the whole thing with tile boards over the brick, then tile or skim as you like?
The other nice thing about tiling onto boards it's they're usually flat, while plaster or render often isn't.
You planning to use cement or foam cored board?

Thanks Josh, That's exactly what I wanted to know. I am going to use cement boards - Hardie backer boards.
Foam core boards worry me a little post Grenfel, I know its probably not an issue, but even so..
Mind you I am going to use a Kardi shower tray base

Used this stuff to tank the walls. You just roll it on any substrate and it even fills holes and small gaps, had good results (yes its green!). Then tile directly ontop.
