Recommend me a lawnmower

After using a push mower for years I've decided enough is enough and have decided to splash out on a new one.
I'm not a fan of electric ones. My garden is on several levels and having used one once I found it too restrictive and have decided it has to be free of electric cables.
Petrol is an option but it has to be light and easy to carry. As I mentioned earlier, the garden is on several levels so I would need to lug it up and down the steps.
Another push mower would be conisidered but I've yet to find a decent one.
My budget is a maximum of £150 although I'd pay more if its worth it.
Any suggestions are welcome. No prize for the winner, just a grateful sole.

Hmmm... If it's got to work underwater, you might need to up the budget a bit! 
On a more serious note, do you want the "look at my lovely stripy lawn without a stray blade of grass" effect, or are you just after something which will cut the stuff in the easiest possible fashion?
If the latter, then I'd recommend shelling out a bit extra for a self-mulching mower. This basically cuts the grass up finer (or something) and then redistributes it across the top of the lawn, and it gets composted back in (or something) to the lawn.
Technically poor description, I know, but I'm not bothered about having grass clippings visible for a couple of days after mowing, and on the plus side, it has slashed mowing time by half as I don't have to keep emptying the mower and finding somewhere to put the clippings.
I got one of these which does the job for me. I reckon their blurb is a bit optimistic about just how invisible the clippings are, but then they're also rather pessimistic about the time you'd save! It's £260 new, but you could probably find it cheaper on Ebay or somewhere.

. Funny you should mention it as there is a lake at the bottom of my garden!Erm, good question above. I hadn't really thought about it. Fancy stripes would be nice but at the moment my lawn is in ruins so I'm guessing anything that is going to aid its re-growth could be worth a punt.
I know its a bit scabby of me but I've found a Mountain Princess offered on Freecycle which I've inquired about. Yes its electric, but its free!
