Hob stopped working on one side

I have one of these electric ceramic hobs, this evening I went to cook tea and only two of the four rings would heat up. Both of the rings that don't work are on the same side, any ideas?

Fortunately the property is rented so I will call the letting agent in the morning (and then wait for ages till something is done no doubt). I did wonder if anyone might have an idea what the problem is and if it will be a quick fix or a new hob.

Hi there, same thing happened to our AEG ceramic hob - I turned the whole thing off at the wall left it off for a while and when i turned it back on, bingo, it worked ! Might be loose wire or might be the heating mechanism (takes 5 mins to change but make sure engineer brings the part with him, if they come without the right part can take a week to order so make sure you or whoever rings gives clear info re the fault and tell them to bring appropriate parts with them) but either way should be a quick fix.
