PH Gardening Matters - show us your garden!

Just put another post up about my lawn mower in anticipation of 4 days in the garden this weekend but I need some inspiration so in the spirit of the "show us your garage/kitchen/home cinema" threads I would like to see some examples of PH'ers gardens.
My garden is North facing (not great admittedly), ideally I want to put a small veg patch in along the fence next to the garage, see pics below. This will have to be fenced off as the dog eats everything. OH wants some decking at the back but I'm not sure how much sun this will get due to orientation and large Magnolia tree in the centre.
From balconies to fields via backyards and "normal" gardens, I'm looking for some ideas and advice of what I can do with my garden.
Let's keep it fairly simple: couple of photos, how long you have lived there, what you have done to the garden and any future plans.
Been here 6 months, cleared out a load of rubbish from the back, started to tidy up. Veg patch is the next stage once the clear up has been finished.
