Carpet tiles

We need a new hallway carpet (ground floor flat) and I thought about using carpet tiles instead.

Anyone got any advice/suggestions/links?

Does it have to be carpet? Carpet tiles are hateful IMHO. What about laminate or tile-effect laminate?

carpet tiles belong in offices and nowhere else IMHO
