I'm after doing my back yard up so I can get a car off the road.
To do it I need a garage door, double due to the shape I'd have to reverse park in.
Anyone think of somewhere I can get one cheap/second hand in the north east.

I keep checking ebay but no joy. Just thought I'd ask before I consider making so kind of comedy bi-folding wooden jobby.

Cheers,

Look for the local franchise of the garage conversion company and give them a call , they end up paying to skip them

I do like the idea of this, but, I'd love an automatic roller thingy.

I'll have a phone around a few places, just don't want to spend a fortune on a new one, being in a back lane, as some fool will just draw a big cock on it anyway.

"Ooohhh, that's new and clean, let's de-face it"

Cheers.

I bought a Hormann automatic door opener 3 years ago (garage had a hormann door!). RRP was about £400 but I got it off fleabay for about £180.
Easy to fit - (well i never read instructions and it still worked !). Problem was I threw the micro remote away by mistake (£30!).
So if you can find a 2nd hand door, the auto bit can be done cheaply(ish). I expect a door company would be charging £500-£1k for this.

Try the garage door king. I just bought a huge double sectional door with electric closer for £795 includig delivery - half the price of everywhere else on line.

Good quality gear, looks great and was easy to fit. Would highly recommend them, and they ar very helpful if you have any questios too.

Thanks for the info. To be honest, if I can get a new one for the £200 mark, I'll probs just do that. Just want to do it as cheaply as possible.

Any money spent on the yard is money that could be better spent on the new car.
