Both front and rear lawns at my new place hadn't been touched in months when I arrived (knee high in places) so gave them a good old chop (took a LOT longer than I'd expected!) - a week on and they don't seem to like their haircuts very much.

Have now gone a bit brown with a few bald patches too frown

What's an idiot-proof way of getting my lovely green back???

When grass grows the base of the shoot when it grows long is often less green.

I would recommend kindness and not cutting the lawn back to lower than a couple of inches until it has required.

I have used Aftercut for the last few years and got great results from it as a summer feed - that should help. I would put the recommended amount down now, then again about a month to six weeks later.
