..well maybe not that dumb smile The sink in the kids bathroom is blocked and as I'm still banned from anything remotely connected with plumbing, Mrs wulluff is in dire need of a good rodding, so to speak.

The trouble is we cant get to the U-bend without taking the whole sink off the wall. She's tried squirting all the usual potions down the plughole but to no effect. Surely there's some out there who knows a plumbers trick or two??

A great big virtual hug (from mrs W) to anyone who can help biggrin

yep tried a plunger; problem with taking the sink off is its hard plumbed(?). I would have used the flexible hose jobbies to the taps but not so frown

Each time I'm about to compose a sensible answer, the phrase 'It's a wulluff, it's a wulluff!' runs through my head.

Any connection to the cartoon series form the 1970's?

Can you see the U bend/ waste or is it built into the surround and not accessible?

Try a length of old co-ax cable, you know like off an old external TV ariel. Needs to be the solid conducter type. Found it's about the right stiffness and size to ram down the plug hole and with a bit of rotating and proding (!) I will go down most pipes and round ubends.

If it's as solid as the OP suggests you'll just be shoving the problem along to the next trap.

You need something which will dissolve the issue.
