Converting from solid fuel to oil or gas.

We currently have a solid fuel Parkray with back boiler for central heating and hot water plus electric water heating foe hot water when not using solid fuel.

While it’s nice and cosy in the winter, autumn and spring are a real pain. We either have to wait hours for the water to get hot enough to run the central heating or it gets too hot and we are opening windows to let out expensive heat. The recent increases in the price of solid fuel is making it less attractive compared to other fuels.

We have been thinking about converting to gas or oil but have no idea of the costs involved.
I just wondered if anyone has had a similar conversion recently, what their experiences were and an idea of costs involved.
