Hanging guitars on wall
Discussion
Not as straight forward as you would think.
I have got a fair few guitars, and even though my bedroom is 28sqm, there is a lot of wasted space as the internal walls arent the way I would of done them
My room is above the garage, the building has a duo pitch roof, now upstairs which is my room the walls on the side start obviously at the floor then around 700mm the walls angle at about 35 degrees in what I would call a flattened half hip roof, angle up but the roof is flat like the edges of a half hip roof... A full hip roof?
So I cant just put up guitar hangers as the guitars will hang out from the wall so would have to make them sit flat against the wall, which isnt a problem I can make up some brackets so they are supported top and bottom flat against the wall.
My question, would the plaster board hold up? Anyone got any ideas or tips for hanging heavyish items on a sloped wall with minimal reinforcing behind it. If it was stonewall I would drill straight into it, but I know that its going to be no more than a 2x4 frame, maybe even that crappy plaster board framing wood, not sure if it will be strong enough, and there is no way I am hacking at the boards as I hate plastering
Any ideas?

Not sure if I understand the exact situation, but the plasterboard will be fixed to something, perhaps 4x2" timbers behind. So if you can locate a convenient one, you can screw into that quite happily.
What he said ^^^If you can locate a stud or joist you will get a perfectly acceptable fixing into one of those.
