I have some newly painted cupboard doors and wouldnt mind keeping them in nice condition, so no marks from objects/water/oil.

Is there something I can coat the painted surface in to make it sealed from the above issues?

yes you can.

as you seem to be starting to do a bit of general DIY, i would recommend getting a book such as the collins DIY manual. it helped me out no end as i was clueless before buying my current house:

I would... but... I already have the DIY Store (anyone remember the store) version of it... just waiting for a mate to give it back, but he is on the farm this weekend and so cant do simple lookups like this....

Satin/gloss/matt varnish are all ok I take it?

I'd just head for a decent gloss paint (oil based, not water based).

Is it conincidence or bitter irony that your namesake specialises in sealant, polymers and stain resistant stuff like this!?
