The boy has been in the paddling pool this afternoon. Tis now time to empty the pool. Advice please as I can only think of bucketing the water out then pulling the plug when there is not much left. I dont wish to flood the garden so pulling the plug to start with is a no go. Any other ideas from the fathers out there.

Evaporation?

Make him drink it? (this will learn him nothing in life is free) smile

Pull the plug, run away (the pub is a good idea) then come back (drunk) and demand an explanation as to why your geranuims are sodden.

Works for me. cool

Just flood the lawn, if your lad isn't ending his paddling session by squashing down the side of the thing to let all the water out anyway there must be something wrong with him...

I am assuming you don't have a pond pump and a bit of tubing to pump it straight down the drain?

Why not just let it evaporate over a day or two?

...Or blowing up model boats with bangers...only to run out of bangers and start making 'fire ships'...and then one of these coming to rest beside the plastic siding and burning the walling..

...THAT IS RIGHT!!!!!

Why not just let it all out onto the lawn? It's hardly like it's going to damage anything. I do this regularly and unless it's been raining constantly for the last month the lawn is always grateful.

Stick a hose in it. Put the other end near a drain. Suck the end of the hose that is near the drain (steady . . . ) until the water starts flowing through the pipe. Immediately put the end of the hose down the drain

The siphoning effect is your friend.

Can't stand those paddling pools!! I flood the garden with it... The garden has been quite dry recently, therefore no harm done...
