What's with all the green-fly

Yep, thousands of them in our garden yesterday too. Citronella candles helped keep them away from the barbecue and table though.

An over abundance of Ladybirds, they breed in accordance to the amount of greenfly around.

Was at Snetterton over the weekend, there were swarms of the buggers.

I have just found thousands of greenfly eggs all over a willow tree in our garden. Any ideas short of chainsaw?

To get all the tedious suggestions out of the way in one post - drop a nucular filled MX5 on it from orbit. VBRJ the survivors.

I saw this in Cyprus recently, thousands and thousdands of ladybirds!

Really weird to see so many and have them stuck all over your clothes and hair and see the ground covered in them.

We are having trouble in the south as a foreign species of Lady bird is eating the local Ladybirds who eat the Green fly, so the greenfly don't have an enemy and breed like mad, not help with the warm, wet weather giving them lots to eat.

Only way I know of getting rid of them is soapy water but that just moves the little buggers and if you go too mad kills the plants too.
