Hi All,
I am looking at a property for sale which has some outbuildings that look like they are asbestos roofed and need demolishing. Does anyone have a rough guide cost per M or by weight etc for its removal?

Many Thanks

Sheet Asbestos, the type you find on a garage/shed roof,if removed carefully are not too dangerous.

Our local council will take them, but only at one of there tips, they have to be double bagged and in by 1 p.m. so they can then get buried by other stuff. Ten years ago there was a £80 surcharge on top of normal tipping charges,so I could not even hazard a guess what the price will be now.

Most councils will examine these sheets for you to confirm they are asbestos because it's possible they are made of concrete, they do have a similar appearance, and it can be worth checking because someone could try to charge you for removing asbestos when it's not(I've had that experience).

Thanks for the link it looks like it the 'safer' grey roof stuff so will see if the local tip may take it.

local council refuses it, but if double bagged with other rubbish, no big deal, just rember to get out of the wayof the skip before it starts to compact smile
