We've got a 3m wide folding door and while it's great it does get a bit hot and bright when the sun's on it so we're thinking about stringing a sail between the house and gazebo. But I'm not sure how it'll look so I'm after inspirationthumbup

Have you considered black mesh.
We had one made up from an agricultural supply house. Ours is 80%, but it is avaiable in varying degrees of light filtering, from 30% upwards.

Does not trap heat. Sags a little when wet, but soon dries.

Not expensive, ours is ten years old and still looks new.

That's a pic of the mesh, I put a peice a paper to show it better as it should be going up today.
Below is where it goes, it reduces temps quite a lot. 10 - 15 F.

I use white cord to attatch it as the structure is white. I also use plastic covered wire to suppot it across its width (20' x 12') The sort of wire granny used for her net curtainssmile Sourced from UK.
