Just musing on this while we have a porch built.

Is there anything that is a nice-ish looking PIR activated outside light with a CCTV camera built in?

Don't want to make it obvious there is a camera but it would be useful for showing who's at the front door (so not a SD card recording cam, something with a live feed that can be plugged into the TV (or an ethernet/wireless output so it could be monitored on a PC).

Already had a look - only one I could see is a floodlight with an SD card slot...

Micromark do stuff like this that simple to wire up. Think there is one called the 'Vigilantern' which I think is probably what your after. Not sure it has a PIR in it though to turn on the light.

Will try and find a few links for you later if you can't find anything.thumbup

Something like that? They do all sorts of lights if you have a scout about. biggrin The metal ones we have found generally look good for 5 minutes though, then tend to rust up and look pretty crap.

That's great - we have a very similar looking white one. Would want a PIR activated one though I think.

I'll have a look in a few of our catalogues later for you to see if I can find anything else suitable.

I'm sure there must be something like this on the market, but failing that I know you can buy seperate PIR's that can be located where ever you like and linked up. Have done this type of thing for security lights around a building which worked out really well. A person only had to walk into the surrounding area of the building and the whole place lit up like a christmas tree.laugh

Screwfix do these stand alone pirs at about £15

Edited to say - Have just found some instructions in the office on the above lantern. It says the PIR will trigger the camera and/or the lamp. so should be ok.

You don't want much do ya, next your be wanting it in pink with blue spots LOL.hehe

Dunno mate tbh, i think though they only come in black. Can't even remember where we bought ours from now. Careful which one you buy though as some are called the same name, but don't look like they have the PIR ( square window above the camera ).
