I'm currently looking at buying a property in Birmingham. While I could look up property solicitors and surveyors in the Yellow Pages or Google it I was hoping for some that come recommended rather than just taking a punt. So, has anyone got the names of some solicitors and surveyors that they've dealt with and recommend? (Or perhaps PM me with some you wouldn't!)

PM Rude_Boy on here for a decent property soliciotr.
Are you looking for a mortgage,? If so remember that you will have to get rthe lenders solicitor out anyway, you could end up paying twice.

It's a residential property solicitor I'm after, and I'm not looking for a mortgage so no worries there Scotal- thanks for the tip though.

I'll give Rude_Boy a PM...

Sorry Scotal- could you give me a link to his profile- I'm not sure which one it is!

Without a doubt, Leonard Jacobs at Redfern & Co

23 Colmore Row

Birmingham

B3 2BP

Telephone: 0121-236 1801

Totally knows his onions, and dealt with my own conveyancing, then when my best mate needed someone he dealt with hers, including rewriting a will and was fantastic.

He's proper old school, and I'd have no problems in recommending him.

I can highly recommend Tony McGuire at Wheadon & Co. (http://www.wheadon.co.uk/ - not a great site, granted)

He acted for me on the purchase and sale of two properties and his work is efficient, thorough and very prompt.

Thanks everyone- I'll give them a call/visit.

Has anyone got any surveyors to recommend?
