Bought a couple of glass desks for a home office 2 years ago - these guys are reasonably priced and have been around for a while:

This is what I use:

They are a good size and robust. Just make sure not to place crockery directly on them (mugs, etc) as they WILL scratch. I have a large (around A2 size) rubber mat on the workstation area which gives ample room for laptop, mugs and doubles up as a mousepad/writing area.

and can't fault it, other than the following which would apply to all glass desks:
a) Can get a hell of a lot of reflection from the glass if the sun shines on it.
b) Can look dirty when the dust is on it (although can help resolve problem a) ) and dust seems to be attracted to them.
c) Yes you do need a mousemat if you have an optical mouse.
d) and you will ALWAYS bang you head on it when reaching underneath it - even though you tell yourself it is glass and not to bang your head!!
