Any idea where I can buy some cheaper than carpet right?

They are quoting £12 square metre which seems expensive to me.

Also any alternatives to Lino that are cheaper?

I find sub floor very fetching, especially dirty concrete with random stains...

More seriously, you should be able to get 3mm lino down to £7 per M^2 if you shop about.

Are we talking proper Linoleum, or the vinyl equivalent? If it's vinyl, then B&Q sell the stuff and will probably be a tad cheaper.
