Tongue & Groove Facias?

Had a builder around to quote for renweing my facias & sofits- he said they would have a T & G finish on both (Sofit & Facia).
He assured me it looks good- I can't help but think it's going to attrach crap in the crevases(sp?) meaning more cleaning.
I've never seen it done- has anyone got this done on their home that would share a picture- Google reveals nothing.
He said I can go for a smooth finish, but it's adding another 15% onto the cost & if it were him, he'd just go for the T&G.

Neither have I- I had a sneaky look around the close to see who had the T & G. Plenty for the Sofit, but none for the Facia.
All i'm thinking is it's making the job easier for him- he said they come in small sections. So probably easier than karting a whacking great lenght of PVC up a ladder into the apex!
