Just wondering if any other PH'er has fitted a log stove. I am installing a log stove in my new build under building regs, and am having a bit of a problem getting the stove pipe the right length to fit. We had a pumice flue installed which terminates in a register plate. The register plate has a male pipe end which the enamelled stove pipe slips over preventing creosote from dripping out. The bottom of the stove pipe slips into the stove.

I bought a 1m stove pipe but its 25cm too long, and the only way I can see this fitting is to cut the bottom off and buy something called a "cut length adaptor" to replace the fitting at the bottom of the pipe which I cut of to get the pipe the right size.

Is this the right approach, any help appreciated. Pics.....

I a used stainless telescopic section on ours which I cut to the right length with a metal cutting disc in my angle grinder. You spray it black afterwards.
I also took the legs off the stove to make it easier to fit - then lifted it back up with a jack to get the legs back on.
