I think my Hoover may be possessed

The OH and I were sat in the living room last night, when we heard a noise. It was a sort of surge, that rose up, then died down, coming from the hallway. On closer inspection the vacuum cleaner was turning itself on and off periodically! Yes, it was plugged in, but it was turned off and we were the only ones in the house and we were in a different room.

Time to reach for the holy water?

Thankfully it did stop when unplugged and neither of us ended up levitating or spewing ectoplasm, but the switch on the hoover was definitely off at the point this happened.

Well, we are opposite the local A&E department in an old, old hospital. It is a touch 'Stephen King' around here, and that's just he neighbours...
