We want some new wooden gates for the side of our house - solid, flat top, about 2.3m wide and 1.8m high. One side has a wooden post, the other a metal one. Have done a bit of googling, but does anybody have any recommendations?

Been looking at:

www.gatewrights.co.uk
www.woodengatecompany.co.uk

Prefer the first so far.

I used the gate workshop, brilliant quality, perfect service.

Maybe not the cheapest but smartened up the house no end.

Still look fantastic after I treated them when installed about 2 years ago.

I'm lookig to get a pair of solid gates too - can any one recommend decent electric openers? We'd like a remote control system as well as a key pad and intercom thingy.

Crockett's Gates and Matrix automation... They've been used by at least two PHers.. Probably more.

They know their stuff inside out.

Crocketts make the gates and Matrix do the automation.

Did you pick your gates yet, NCoT?

Always pleased to see people recommending Jason at Crockett's Gates. He is a nice guy, and does make very good gates.

Not yet, haven't got round to it. I had a look on their website but didn't really see anything that grabbed me. That was only a quick look a few weeks ago so I'll check back.

Hiya

Theres a cuple of companies that come to mind.

Tate Fencing are reasonably local, or Jackson Fencing in Ashford.

Both have a very good reputation.
