Hi,

I'm fitting out the kitchen currently and am looking for all new appliances so will be spending a good bit overall but lower end items. So far, I've found www.appliancesdirect.co.uk who offer some good deals and are much cheaper than Comet.

For buying a total of 6 items does anyone have anywhere else they recommend looking or perhaps a place that will do a good deal for so many purchases?

Hotpoint trade shop in Peterborough? They sell stuff with transit damage that is perfectly functional but may have cosmetic damage. Very much the luck of the draw as to what's there and only open short hours but if you find what you are looking for there are bargains to be had.

Some have small dents on the side which if you're putting them in a 600 opening will never be seen thumbup

Think they're open something like 11 till 2 Tues to Fri and Saturday mornings.

John Lewis will do a deal on multiple purchases if you push and speak to a manager or senior member of the sales staff, but I guess if you are going for the lower stuff you will go by lowest overall cost, which would be an online supplier i'd imagine (and try ringing or emailing them for a multi purchase deal).

Sainsburys were cheapest when I bought a new cooker and fridge a few years back, but when I replaced the freezer last year I looked around a few local suppliers as well, and a local firm (Ace Electric in Fleet) worked out about £5 more than the best price I could find online and delivered the next day.

Just bought our tumble drier from there, was a fair bit cheaper than anywhere else, and they sent a text message with a 4 hour delivery window the night before, and the driver rang with a few hours beforehand as well.
