I have a towerstat Rs stat, it's a very basic turn and click type.

However, the orange led is always on no matter what temp it is turned to. My main gripe is that it clicks the heating only when it is turned past 32.

It clicks at 27 but doesn't appear to do anything.

So it's either have the heating on full bore for a short period or suffer in the cold. I want it to click on around 23 or so.

I really don't understand it...

Those things are st. Get a 7 day digital one, that way you can have different temps at different times.

How easy is it to convert to a 7 day digital one?

I would buy a programmable one. Let you set different temperatures at different times of day.

I think this is the way forward for me...

Hopefully it cure this most annoying problem.

It's as easy as working out the live/switch live and making safe the neutral (if applicable).

Makes? Any ones to avoid? Looking at a honeywell and it's to run a separate system I.e. Not a combi boiler...

I've got two Honeywell CM707's, they don't need nuetral so just use a connection bock to insulate. The rotary type usually have three wires-live in/out & nuetral. Thwe live is where the switching happens so connect to A & B on the 707.

Just thinking about I've got a honeywell timer in the airing cupboard.

Can I still use a 7 day programmable stat?

With regards to wiring my current one does have 3 wires. Live, switched live and a neutral.

you can, you either set the timer to come on when you want and programm the stat for temps at those times or set the timer to always on and have the stat do all the controls(via temp control).
