The Wimbledon massive are feared throughout South London. If you wear the wrong shade of salmon pink Crew chords, you'll be off the afternoon cocktails list for weeks.
There is no greater loss of face.

Cheap though - amazing value for money by the looks of things. Surrey truly sucks for VFM. It's pathetic.
We live in LB... seems very reasonable for the money and the train service is quick into London (32mins or so) but it is normally quite crowded.I think The Times did an article on the town sometime last week?
Quite a few PHer's in the area
tonker - they're s
t agents (as you probably know, but in this general area they seem to be especially poor)!
which is a good thing if that's who your vendor uses..!
the asking prices are generally 'keen' but they're crap so it doesn't matter!
inlike michael graham who are gernally do all the other places around mk but not this far south - who are really slick and seem to get the best houses (and sell them for too much!).
i currently go to MK for the train but am thinking about heading south to LB instead of north to mk because whilt you don;t get virgin trains option you do at least get the benefit of being nearer london. just you might not get a seat.
and to the other person - i don;t know how much the trains cost from 'surrey' but it does strike me that it's not bad value. we moved from Welhat and it's certainly cheaper than even that bit of herts (way cheaper around there than say harpenden)...
i don;t know anything about LB to be honest i just did a search of all the new stuff on in last 24 hrs..

When I said Surrey, I was referring to the County. I think it's ridiculously over-priced. The example shown here kind of backs that up, methinks.

Trains are ok from LB but you can struggle to get a seat on the more popular pre 7:30 direct services. Mon-Wed seem to be the busiest. i don;t know anything about LB to be honest i just did a search of all the new stuff on in last 24 hrs..
Parking is £6.xx a day IIRC or about 1/2 that if you have a season ticket. I think they half that again if you have a "green" car.
LB Town Centre is ok for a night out - mixture of quiet pubs and the more rowdy ones. Open late as well... I think I left "The Office" at 3am on Sunday morning!
At the weekends we tend to go to MK for the shops as the Town Council have put in so many speed bumps/restrictions/crossings that the traffic just stops dead. It took 20minutes to get from Hockliffe Road down to the multistory nr Waitrose last Saturday lunchtime.
Town Centre itself shops wise - LOTS of hairdressers/barbers, charity shops, sandwich/bakery places. Then a Wilkinsons, Pound Stretcher, Boots, WH Smiths and the usual banks. One expensive men's clothes shop and that's about it.
Brisk - If you need any carpet for your new place, my mate runs Kingfisher carpets (nr Waitrose) and will be able to sort you out a good deal.

Have to say I'm pretty surprised, in the parts of Sheffield where i used to live, slightly larger terraced houses went for about £125,000. And those were in bits of town I'd imagine were nicer than any part of Bolton, (This might be prejudice on my part) with a large student population to keep rents up, and at th height of the market.Gassing Station | Homes, Gardens and DIY | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
