Is it possible? Basically most of the windows in our house the edges of the windows the rubber seals have gone. Some of the windows are so bad the curtains move when the wind hits the house!

Anyone have any experience or ideas on this?

You mean round the opening bits?

A bit of stick-on foam draught excluder might be a quick fix, depending on the gap.

If there's little or no resistance when you close the window with the handle then you should be able to adjust(anti-clockwise) the bolts on the edge of the closing window with an allen key. Worth a try first.

You can get them re-sealed and it won't be much. We just replaced two glass units for £60 fitted so I expect the rubber seals to be pennies.

If you want the double glazed units (not including frames) then contact;

Armour Sealed Units (Bristol) Ltd
This is an unverified listing
62 Barrs Court Rd, Barrs Court, Bristol, Avon BS30 8DH
0117 961 3970‎
armoursealedunits-bristol-ltd.co.uk

If you want windows repaired including double glazed units fitted, then use this company, but understand that this company buy their double glazed units from the first company I have given you. Both are first class to deal with and very, very good on prices, but as always get price before you order, just to show them you are on the ball.

Express Glazing & Son
82-84 Clouds Hill Rd, Bristol BS5 7LF
0117 955 3738‎

If it is on the outside of the frame, then perhaps silicone frame sealant placed around/between the window frame and the wall/building might sort the problem out, which Express Glazing will be both able and pleased to carry out for you.
