They like to be able to whack a dish on the outside wall drill a hole and run 20' of cable to your box, job done in an hour. Anything more and they lose money.

Had virgin media installed in my Grade two listed property a few moths ago. Guys had no problem with drilling through walls. Not sure if planners will be bothered but they prob wont know. There was loads of old satilite cables and ariel cables that have been left attached to the outside of house which i have taken off since replaced by the one virgin cable which enters house 1m up from floor.
