LED Conversion

Hello all, I have posted in here as it is the only place i could identify that would take this topic... (Q move by mods...)

I have a fairly old (3x D Cell) maglite. I use it for work and wanted to upgrade to a LED fitting. Now i have had a look about on the internet and only really come up with a Halfrauds version. Does anyone have any expirence with Maglite upgrades? there are a number of different versions not all OEM. I use the torch for search purposes, often looking from a bright area into a dark one, so need some (lumes?) candlepower! I am not really too worried about battery life as i get them supplied. Can any one help? Or is there a torch master amoungst us???

The torch holds sentimental value as i have had it 13 years now and i dont want to buy another with the LED already installed. So over to you ladies and gentlemen...

Maglite drop-ins are OK if your a normal person. Don't go to candlepowerforums unless you enjoy spending lots of money on shiney things
