Candy CIN 100T - Problem finding the filter

Washing machine has gone on the blink, and candy service line suggested I first check the filter. Apparently this is at the front, possibly behind a kick panel

But I cannot for the life of me find it. There seems to be a panel below the loading door, but this a solid piece, not screwed in and doesnt 'pop' off (I had a wiggle with a screwdriver). There seems to be no obvious way to get that off

Anyone happen to have this machine, or know where the filter might be?

User manual gives no indication
