I want to get my father some tongs for the log fire as a Christmas present, as it's something he's been meaning to get for ages and never has. I've had a look on the web but it's the kind of things i'd rather buy after having seen it in the flesh if possible, so can anyone think of any national chains that would sell something like this?

The best I could come up with was John Lewis, but they didn't have any.

Cheers!

Hardware or Ironmongers, if I knew what area you were in I could direct you more clearly.

You'll often find some really nice ones in antique shops at this time of year as people like to get them for Christmas. We've bought a couple of sets that way and they are a lot better quality than most of the new stuff that's about.
