Anyone else find it mildly amusing that in this day and age, one can still see pitched roofs on houses, replete with rapidly melting snow and ice, surrounded by their neighbours, on whose roofs the snow is still thick and undisturbed?

It isn't as though these are the homes of millionaires, such lack of insulation must be costing a fair few bob a year. That's good beer money down the drain.

scratchchin Note to self: have a discrete shufty at our roof, if it actually snows some time this winter.

ETA: well fk me sideways, it DID snow this evening. hehe I'll check the roof on the morrow.

Perhaps they like their heated roofs so as to melt the snow quicker?

I had a Skoda with a heated sunroof, once. You never know when it'll come in handy, that sort of thing.
