Is it me?
Since when did it become acceptable to pile your refuse(mainly boxes,bottles etc)on your front garden ready for collection which is still a WEEK away?
My neighbours had rubbish out on Wednesday that wasn't taken and won't be till the end of next week. Of course the piles are even bigger now due to christmas.
Is it that much trouble to shift it for a bit?

It is actually a fixed penalty offence (unbeleivably) to put your bins out too early (people have been fined for putting them out 24hrs early) let alone a week. I guess a quick email to your friendly council snoopers will ensure they receive a nice little letter through the post.

Er - it's in the garden so, nothing one can do about it unless it becomes a health issue.

It's a modern cul de sac so everything is on full view.

It might be worth checking your deeds to see if there are any covenants/whatever concerning such maters.
BTW; you have my sympathy as is one of my pet-hates too.

Maybe given the snow and ice we've had you should just relax a little on this occasion. I guess the bin men didn't come when they should and your neighbours just going to leave it there 'til next collect, whenever that might be.

Our recycle bins were not done last week either -council were catching up on household waste ones apparently.

Perhaps you could offer to take your recycling bin around so you can both at least put the bottles in it and then keep pushing until it's all allocated the right bin.

Perhaps they were away for Christmas and didn't want their house to smell of rotting refuse when they got back?

This only applies if it is on the public highway. If within the confines of a property, then its a more tricky issue as it has to be a demonstrably clear hazzard to health.
