I have a night storage heater in my flat which is looking a bit sorry for its self. Can it be painted?

Cheers

I suppose radiator paint would do the trick - it's designed to get hot. Have a look at the small print on the can.

Yes - just use a good quality eggshell or semi-matt paint over a decent undercoat; Dulux is fine. I have painted radiators and storage heaters in this way for years without any problem. Give it a good scrub first with sugar soap and clear up any pits or rusty bits. Mask it up carefully before you start and make sure its OFF.

In fact, thinking back to my earlier days, I once used an aerosol spray on a storage heater, to avoid brushmarks showing on the flat metal surface. It worked.

Smooth Hammerite works.
