Car or house? At least if it's the car the battery it'll die soon enough. Good luck trying to sleep though.

the place is being so badly robbed they are ripping the wiring out to sell. Tomorrow only the bricks will be left, and by next week you will have a Easten European Car wash set up, in fact by the time your mate gets back you will be living next to a Rocket launch site...... crafty those ex soviet buggers.... see

Could fall into environmental health. Call plod (not 999!) and ask them if there's anything they can do for you.

Alternatively, their alarm has presumably been going off for a while and no-one's done anything about it. Pop round with a brick and see if they've got anything 'nice'. Consider it their way of apologising for keeping you up.

This is true, if you call the Environmental Health Department of your local council they should ascertain whether there is an additional keyholder to gain access and reset the alarm, alternatively they will contact the Police and arrange entry that way. I've had to do it once for my parent's neighbour's house.

AFAIK house alarms should reset after 20 minutes or so, and are only permitted to 'alarm' a certain number of times before they should cancel.

Good luck!

I feel you pain on this one. I had exactly the same for 2 weeks alarm went off at 5am for 5 mins, stopped then continued to try and wake the holiday man at 15 minute intervals. Luckily I was living on my own in a 3 bed house so I moved to the other side of the house and couldn't hear his damn alarm.

God love PH. 14 posts and only one suggests you go round and check to see whether he's actually been broken into.

yes Check it hasn't been broken into, Police might also have a list of keyholders, but ultimatly it's EHO responsibility. Police only get involved to force entry to assist EHO who will get the alarm disconnected (at your neighbours cost)

Is there not a bell box on the outside with a phnone number on it? Call them and maybe they can summon a keyholder.

Failing that, buy a rifle and shoot the fker.

If the system has been installed and programmed correctly and to standards, then in the event of an alarm being triggered, the external sounder should run for a max of 20 mins

Anything more than that (if installed correctly) would indicate either a faulty sounder unit, or a power failure in the property AND a dead back-up battery in the control panel... In which case the battery in the external sounder unit will be powering it... And it will go flat - eventually!

Call the council's EHO as a staring point.
