I am looking to have my carpets cleaned and have come across Chem-Dry. I was initally contemplating doing in allmysef one weekend after hiring a system from the Local DIY store. A friend has suggested I try Chem-Dry.

Any advice would be appreciated

DIY systems (and those from some geezer who puts a 'special offer' flyer through your door) just leave your carpets wet and not very clean, in my experience.

Chem-Dry is actually completely different and really does make a difference - I think it's worth the extra.

Does anyone have a rough idea of Chem-Dry charges? Their website doesn't actally give a price list.

My lounge/diner and hall was about £75 a few years ago. More than your average Joe with a Henry and some hot water, but much better.

I guess it goes by the area to treat - call your local agent.

IIRC they charged us about £300 to do two sets of stairs, two landings, a bedroom and 4 dining chairs.
