Hi just moved house and need to change the locks on the UPVC doors.

Does anyone know how easy it is to do and how to do it?

Top lurking mate,

Changing the euro-cylinder on a upvc door is easy , literally 1 screw 30 second job. New cylinders are around £5 upwards depending on quality .

Scare yourself silly by typing 'lock bumping' into you tube

Simplest way to stop 'lock bumping' is to leave a key in the inside of the door, and turn it a bit. biggrin

Obviously you can't do this with the front door as you leave. but then you can buy a fancy un-bumpable lock for just that one.

Even someone that can't add up 40 & 45 can do it! smile

(and I was impressed when he said "rule")

Re bumping, apparently the anti-bump fluid, which I thought was snake-oil, really does work.

Pah - just when I thought this would be easy need a 40+50=90 lock.

Can find every other combination to make 90 but not a 40+50!!

Grrrrrr!!

If you cant get the exact size , going 5mm bigger on either , or both sizes wont do any harm.

We have 3 and they're all flush, or even ever so slightly recessed, on one side and stick out a few mm's on the other side. Never really thought about it until now.
