Has anyone else's bins not been collected for what seems like months?

We've got our black wheelie bin full and also bin bags that are left over because its full.. Can I leave these out next to the bin?

Its not my fault they've not collected for ages and we all pay Council Tax for this.

Same here, recycling (glass and plastic) hasn't been collected here (Staffs) since before Christmas.

I was reading a similar thread in Homes, Gardens & DIY yesterday.

Ours are supposed to get collected today. I've left every single bin out so they can take their pick. I'm curious to see what has happened when I get home.

Have you checked your council website for what they say about cancelled collections? My local council had daily updates during the snow.

I put the wheelie bin out, with the lid closed as I know their funny about the lids being too full..

Noticed a few others had put bags out so left 4 out there for them, will see what they've done/if when I get home. They were meant to be collected yesterday but weren't mad

As I said in the other thread, I'm starting to consider taking the same action as my Dad did last year when he was waiting a fortnight to have his bins emptied.

Dad on the phone to the Council - "Yes hello. I'm wanting to report that my bin hasn't been collected for two weeks now, despite it being sat on the pavement"

Council - "Is it overflowing? Or is there rubbish in the street?"

Dad - "No. But it's full, and it was supposed to be collected a fortnight ago, and no-one's turned up yet"

Council - "I'm afraid that unless there's waste overflowing into the actual road, then I'm afraid there's not much we can do."

Dad - "OK. Hold on a minute (leaves phone on the side for a minute or two before returning) Hello? Yes, some fkers just kicked my bin over and there's rubbish all over the street."

Council - "OK Mr. Evans, we'll send someone out today to clear it up."

Ours weren't collected for almost two months so we just chucked it out the car window on the motorway.

People have had their bins out for a week or so as nobody knows when they're going to be emptied nor which bins (black or blue).

Yesterday was the scheduled day so I put both mine out on the assumption that one might get emptied and was surprised that both did.

Ours got emptied today - first time since Dec 16th. Since then had 3 trips to council dump. Bet the fking scum of society got the bins emptied on time, the ones who sponge/get the methadone/heroin/crack cock etc free from the state.

I'm like the Murphy's..i ain't bitter.

Err, this?
Rather than complaining on a random website, why not complain on the council's website?

Demand collection or a rates rebate. Worst case, you should be able to find your ward councillor's address, where you can dump your waste on their property (remarkably, not actually a crime).

All your recycling has just gone into the normal waste, I'll bet.

Council said to just leave them out and they will get round to it.

There are 5 adults and a seven month old baby living here, + visitors at Christmas.

There are now at least 15 black bags on our verge. rolleyes

Mother fkers. Ours were still there at the end of the driveway last night. A hopeful peek inside confirmed my suspicions - still fking full. My complaint letter is being drafted as we speak.

I thought ours would be collected today, seeing as collection day was on Tuesday.

Their still out there, with another black bag.. That'll be 6 sat with it now.

Useless.
