Can anyone help?
I am currently nearing the end of a major kitchen refurbishment. Very nearly everything has come from Ikea as the house will be let out and I wanted stuff that was cheap and easily replaceable. But when I asked to buy a fridge from them they said that you can't collect fridges from any of their stores as they are delivery only items. For some unknown reason they also said that the delivery slot would be 2-4 weeks away!

Being a bit lazy I just cracked on with the rest of the kitchen and thought that would buy the fridge later. However I can't seem to find any shop which will offer fridges for customer collection. Everywhere that I have found says they are delivery items only.

I presume this is because of the legislation about fridges needing to be recycled properly so all shops must offer collection of old appliances, but I don't need my old fridge to be collected as I will be giving it away to a friend.

I just want to find a shop where I can drive to and physically buy a standard integrated fridge which I can take away today and fit this evening. Does any such place exist?

Any independents or small "local" chains near you? (euronics or have they gone "big)

Only place that you can drive away with white goods near me is an indepedent as I discovered when my washing machine went pop.

Currys say that reservation instore is not possible.

I will search for some small home appliance stores. Does anyone know of any possibilities in Bristol?

That's a given, he doesn't have a fridge to keep anything in.

Costco in Avonmouth have white goods that you can takeaway, not sure if they do integrated fridges though (I'm presuming your looking for ones that live inside a kitchen cupboard?)

Yeah. I will happily accept an "on show" fridge if I have to, but I have designed the kitchen with an integrated unit in mind and already have the door for it.

Can general public shop in costco or is it members only store?

You can collect washing machines at any Currys store, so why not fridges?

It's members only, costs about £25 to join. The Co-op in Portishead also sells white goods, not sure if they do fridges though, so might be worth checking them out if you have one local.

Members only. Don't remember them having integrated appliances though, not that I look too closely as I'm not in the market for white goods at the moment.

I used these people for my last freezer, they can deliver with 24 hours, and have a good selection.

Cheers.
I had just found them on Google and given them a call. Apparently they do have some in stock available for collection but they are about £70 more than currys.

I guess I might just have to give currys a call and see what they say.

Well, if you are after a specific model, that they dont normally have in the shop on display then I guess you might not be able to collect it there and then.
I thought they had a thing whatever you ordered could be delivered to the store for you tho.

I just went for the best price one that they actually had there and then.

The problem is they don't seam to stock interated stuff. It does tend to be mainly on Direct Delivery.
