Little help with a bracket, please.
Discussion
If I've grasped the size of the bracket correctly, then the forces at the bolts are going to be huge. I'd nut and bolt it through a thick square of decent timber about 3 times the width (and height) of the bracket. Bolt it from the back with countersinking to leave a smooth surface across the back of the timber. Now the angular forces that would pull out fixings are much reduced. Then tapcon (search on screwfix & much easier than the expanding wall anchors) the edge of the timber to the wall with about 8 of them, corners and midsides. Use the largest there are - they usually come with the correct masonry bit.

Thats what i was going to do when we first got it but the bloke we got it from said he never bothered, just used 3 RawlboltsEdited by FamilyGuy on Friday 19th February 19:53
If its lightweight insulation block your drilling into its unlikely you'll get a decent fixing. They can be a bit of a bugger to get a solid fix on at times. If you want to be 100% sure to get a solid fixing then this is probably your best option... http://apps.fischer.de/poc/default.aspx?page=detai... or similar.

That what i have been doing, but 2 have broken. The outer jacket just split up.
?
Either they are cheap Chinese copies or, one is punching too hard. ?

Nicky, I suggest you take the fixings out and use what Spudler suggested in his above post. Chem-fix when done properly will not fail.
I bought my son a punch bag on a free standing frame so there'd be no problems like this
waste of time
The frame fell apart, then when strengthened and reinforced and rebuilt with extra bolts washers and locknuts
fell apart again
Which is a long winded way of saying that sinking Rawlbolts into Breeze block/cinder block walls is not likely to withstand the immense forces you will be putting into them
I would honestly suggest drilling through the wall to be used and make mild steel (metal primered) spreader plates to fit behind a: the bracket and b: the outside of the wall as a sandwich
And use very strong bolts to hold it all together
Son only used his for fitness training not full time hammering, but they get an awful lot of welly, punchbags

I have now gone and got some bigger M10 Rawlbolts, and built a kind of beam arrangement that spans the width of the garage, above the bracket so i can attach it to that to.
If this fails then i will have to ask the wife what exactly she is doing to it.... maybe she is swinging on it or something... she is a bit mad!
(edit for my crap spelling)
